I Don’t Have Time to Relax!

I have been really trying hard to prioritize self-care 📚🛁 the past few weeks, in an effort to not burn out during this busy gymnastics season. But let’s be honest… I don’t have time to relax! My schedule is FULL! 😫

Anyone relate to that? 🙋🏻‍♀️

So what do we do? How do we keep ourselves from losing it? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was having a conversation with a friend who was feeling the same way. Her solution for the day was to do whatever makes her happy. 😊 I thought, “Yeah! That’s it. I’ll do that.” But then there’s my schedule… if I do that, I’ll be further behind and more crazy. 🤪

So where’s the middle ground?

Mindset.

​I know, I know… it’s a trendy buzzword, right? But I promise, it matters.

I realized that I was setting aside time for reading 📖, because that is something I really enjoy. But I was reading only things related to business, because I have to get that done.

I typically enjoy traveling, ✈️🚘 but I had decided that I HAD TO travel to get to my meets. I love judging, but again, my mindset was that it was something I HAD TO DO.

Even a personal project that I volunteered to do, because it is something I enjoy, had become something that I HAD TO DO.

I was stealing my own joy, all because my mindset was in the wrong place. 🤦🏻‍♀️

So I invite you to look at your mindset, and figure out if you are the one stealing your own joy. Are you doing things you like to do, but making them more of a chore? 

And how can you start to change that? What is one place you are going to change your thoughts, so you can start to relax, even with a full schedule? 😊♥️🌻
